Cramping/contractions at 33 weeks
In the last 2 weeks I'm been to L & D twice with cramping that turned out to be small contractions. They think I was dehydrated both times but aren't 100% sure. They gave me medication to stop them and I'm okay now. Has anyone else experienced this? I didn't have this with my first child and it's freaking me out. I wonder if she's come early because of this.

Re: Cramping/contractions at 33 weeks
it can absolutely be due to dehydration. i was told to maintain drinking a gallon of water a day (which i really do, do... but results in peeing an awful lot!)
im on a t-pump to keep the contractions down. they will be stopping it tomorrow and putting me on the pills i hope it works just as good but since ive made it to 34 weeks they arent to concerned with her coming early. they just want to make it to 36 weeks hopefully!
if you have any ?'s im more then happy to help however i can

Re: Cramping/contractions at 33 weeks
I've been having the same problem since 28 weeks. I'm now 32 and still going through this. I'm on procardia twice a day to keep me from contracting out of control like I've been now I'll only get maybe 3 a day. I drink a ton of water all day but I pee so much but I'm also dialated a finger tip so I have to make sure I keep an eye on my contractions.
If you have any questions I'll be more then happy to help. Feel free to FM me any time!!

Re: Cramping/contractions at 33 weeks
I'm 33 weeks also and I've been contracting a lot. I've been to L&D and although my contractions were strong and frequent, I wasnt dilating at all so they just sent me home.
It definately can be from dehydration, but keep an eye out because it can be a sign of preterm labor. A friend of mine starting having major contractions everyday beginning at 26 weeks (she was never put on meds) and believe it or not, she didnt deliver until 39 weeks -- so dont worry too too much
