What color curtains, rugs and accents for this room?

I am so clueless when it comes to these sort of things!! I was originally thinking blue accents but now I am thinking green?

Any ideas on the type/color of rug and curtains I should hang in the LR and DR?

I would do a slate blue in both rooms so it ties it all together.

I love what you have so far, especially the DR. I would start with the area rug. You have a very nutural room right now and can easily build color from the rug.

Here are some ideas all very different but each would give you some color to work with.

For me the rug would be a great jumping off piece at this point. Your drapes , accent pillows and other pieces would easily fall into place after your rug selection.

We have similar color walls, floors and furniture, so I've included a pic of my living room. The curtains are sage green with brown and taupe detail. The rug is shades of brown, green and taupe. I think you could do different styles in both rooms just as long as they don't clash.
