Re: Csection question
I was up and out the next morning but I did not get up to my room until later in the day.
You will probably be up that day if it is early. The faster you are up the better you will be.

Re: Csection question
same day. I had my section at 11:30 am and walked to the bathroom with help at 8:00 pm. I was itching to get up though. By the following day I was walking the halls holding the banister.

Re: Csection question
My DD was born at 3:03pm...
I was up and out of bed the next morning.
They didn't push the issue at all but she was in the NICU for some rapid breathing issues and I was awake all night because I was so upset that I couldn't go and see her...so as soon as morning rolled around I told them I wanted to get up and they said that as long as I felt OK to do it that it was fine.

Re: Csection question
I'm pretty sure they has me up that night. I had an unscheduled csection and even when they were getting me into bed I had to do a lot of it. You really heal better and quicker if you start moving asap.

Re: Csection question
I had my c-sec at 5:30 in the morning and was up walking by 12:00 pm the same day. I wanted to get in clean up, brush my teeth, clean my face because I had been in intense labor for 22 hrs I looked awful. Nurses were worried that I wouldn't be able to walk but I did and my recoverey was great so I plan to get up right away again.

Re: Csection question
hmmm I don't remember.. I think it was by that night but with help. I don't think it was until the next morning after resting that I got the hang of pushing myself up and getting out of bed to actually walk around by myself.

Ds was out by 11:48 am but I didn't get out of bed till the next morning. This time around I'd like to at least try to stand the same day.

Re: Csection question
I wasn't but some people are. It took me about a day and a half to really be able to get around without being in pain and feeling uncomfortable. Everyone recovers differently though.
Edit - Scheduled C, DD born at 5:42am on a Fri.....up and walking the next afternoon (Sat).

Re: Csection question
I'm pretty sure it was the next day for me. The catheter was still in until the next morning so there was no reason for me to get up. I wasnt in my room until 2pm so there wasnt much time after the surgery during the day anyway.
