Question for csection moms
When your catheter was put in were you already numb from your spinal? Or was it done before hand and you felt it?
My csection with the twins was an emergency, totally unexpected so I wasn't even aware of what was going on. But now that I know Im having another one Im reading up on some things and Im really hoping it's put in after Im numb.

Re: Question for csection moms
I have absolutely no recollection, so it must have been after I was numb or I would have remembered it... I think. Mine was 24 hours of labor.

Re: Question for csection moms
after you are numb....you sit on the edge of table the put the epidural in your back, you lay down, you go numb, they do a bunch of stuff you can't see or feel and then you have your wonderful amazing baby! good luck :)

After, 'cus I barely felt it, it's great not having to get up to pee after a major surgery like that. :D

Re: Question for csection moms
I had both an emergency and a scheduled c/s and both times it was after I received the spinal. I do remember the pressure and being told to breath in when they put it in and took it out.

Re: Question for csection moms
It was after I got the epi and I felt nothing, and when it was removed the next day, I was afraid but felt absolutely nothing then either.

Re: Question for csection moms
I'm pretty sure they put a catheter in shortly after my epidural. I felt a little something. It was more of a strange feeling than painful. It didn't bother me at all when they took it out.

Re: Question for csection moms
i was under general for my csection (also emergency) and they put the catheter in before putting me out. i was on mag at the time so the memories are fuzzy but i dont remember it being uncomfortable for more than a moment or so.

Re: Question for csection moms
The nurse started right after my spinal so I wasn't completely numb yet.
I felt a little when she started but was numb before she finished......it didn't hurt, just felt weird.

Re: Question for csection moms
For my Crash it was b4 b/c like you it was an emergency. Not fun For the scheduled c they put it in after the spinal didn't even know they did it. Actually, I asked the nurses b/c I remember feeling uncomfortable when they did it for the emergency
