That was NOT what I was expecting in going to an RE. I already know i have hypothyroidism, and I wanted to get an endo that could also monitor me and my levels once I became preggo. What I did get was a consultation about iui's and ivf's which he said I probably don't need since I'm "young" (hi, I'm 33, not what I consider young) and he wants all these other tests before he'll consider me a candidate for any of that. But to top it off, he wants me to see a regular endo prior to seeing him. WHAT? That just made no sense. If you're an RE shouldn't you know the endo part of it too?
He actually said "Sorry this isn't a one stop shop"
ugh! Frustrated!

hmm..

ok first part..i don't get the young thing...not saying you are not young but that is not a reason to not discuss iui or ivf

second..testing is part of the RE process..before we did a anything i had to go for a hsg,dh SA. a full thrombo panel was done and i saw a cardiologist

they cannot give u a protocol of what they might do without knowing would could or could not be wrong

third..i have hasimoto's and have to see a endo as well...yes the RE should know and can give u basic info but it is only his or her job to get you pregnant..not worry about meds for your thryroid and treating it etc...

it suucks i know i think i spent most of 2011 in a doc office or a hospital

see I used to see and RE but she did in office endo stuff on top of the reproductive stuff. I would go back to her but her office closed and my insurance listing doesn't have an updated number for her.
