help with an ingredient in a cupcake recipe?

What kind of cream do you think I should use in this cupcake recipe for the Frosting?

I obviously don't bake often since I don't know what cream to use but wanted to attempt these cupcakes for a b-day party.

yes there is a difference between heavy cream and whipping cream although some people use those terms interchangeably to mean heavy cream.

Heavy Cream or Heavy "Whipping" Cream has a 5-10% higher fat content, but that is necessary when baking/making frostings because when whipped it holds its form and doubles in volume.

Regular whipping cream, with the lower fat content, whips, but will not hold its form, at least not for as long. It is a looser consistency and also, in my opinion, a less of a taste. It is good for cream fillings, or cooking.

So for the top of a cupcake, and from experience with any frosting I have ever made, my vote is for heavy cream.

thank you!
I remember I once used the wrong thing for a filling & it didn't set well. Can't remember which one of the two I used though.
