Ovarian cyst, not allowed to start Clomid
Went to dr today, I got my period on my own Saturday night (I have pcos and don't always get it) so the plan was to do our first round of Clomid and IUI.
Well the dr found a 3 inch cyst on my ovary, he said we cannot start clomid yet bc of it. I go back one week from today to get rechecked. He said it might go away once my period ends.
Has this happened to anyone? Will it go away on its own? I'm so confused. We tried so hard this cycle too, and all I ended up with were nasty yeast and bacterial infections
The hits just keep on coming

Re: Ovarian cyst, not allowed to start Clomid
I had a 50mm or 2" cyst last cycle and I could not start clomid...I went back a week later and it had gone down to 23 mm but they said it was best to take a break...I know it really does suck but if you took clomid it would could cause more harm then good

Sheesh well I def don't want to cause myself more problems than I already have.
Do you know if they still do iui's if you don't use clomid?

Thank you that's good to know. I'm willing to increase my odds in any way that I can. Even if I ovulate late and catch it, I can still try w/ an iui I guess

If you ovulate on your own and you dont need the clomid to stimulate follicle growth I dont see why you couldnt do an unmedicated IUI...I would ask your doc to see

Re: Ovarian cyst, not allowed to start Clomid
I feel your pain...in a little different way but similar...i did clomid three times, increasing the dose each time we restarted it and after the 3rd time it didn't work we were going to try injectables but after taking the highest dose of clomid i developed a big corpus lueteal cyst and i wasn't allowed to start injectables or any other infertility treatment...the way the MD explained it is the infertility meds can make the cyst grow and you have the risk of it rupturing which would be a big problem so its best to let it go away on its own...which thankfully it did by the time i got my period again. Hang in there, I know it sucks but you'll get through it!
