How To Keep Yourself From Testing

Come on guys, give me ideas. I don't want to torture myself by testing early. Trying to hold out until at least Wed, preferably Thurs.

Re: How To Keep Yourself From Testing

I have 3 in the house. Rationally I know not to test until DPO 15. (Thursday). But when I'm in my bathroom in the morning it's so hard not to grab one. Tomorrow is going to be so hard not to test unless AF comes by then.

I'm so sorry you feel that way but the truth is, I feel the same way sometimes too (my glass is always half empty). We have to stick together and stay positive!

A few more days to go for me. I'm so eager to find out but I'll hold out by watching tv and keeping busy at work.

Truthfully, I feel fine, no symptoms at all so I'm sure I'm out but only time will tell...

My boobs are killing me and I have had heartburn... but my boobs have hurt a few days before AF other times and she still comes. It's so hard to grasp why some people get pregnant when someone blows on them and others track and time everything perfect month after month and nothing happens. I kinda just figure what's the point of testing too far before AF comes... she will let me know if it ever happens, Chat Icon

LOL - I'm at work at you and I def got a much needed laugh from your line: "some people get pregnant when someone blows on them." It's the truth - and they are so damn lucky and I am jealous!!!! A friend of mine just told us she's preg with #3. Her and her husband work completely different schedules and I cannot figure out how they had a minute to get busy let alone get busy AT THE VERY PERFECT time...since we women get like 2-3 days max. It's absolutely amazing.

As for symptoms - the past 2 months, I have def felt sore boobs and cramping for like a week before AF. I was convinced I was preg but I wasn't. Good old AF was on time as always. This month, I haven't had any sore boobs or cramping - its quite odd. I am convinced it's my mind and body playing tricks on me.

I'm with you - as hard as it is, I'll wait til I'm late. Lots of luck to you!! Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: How To Keep Yourself From Testing

Honestly...I think it helps that I’m cheap!! I had some HPT that I bought from Walgreens for $11 (before i knew of the dollar tree tests)! I refused to waste the money and test early to only get a BFN and then AF. Two months ago I was almost 6 days late. I didn’t test until I was 3 days late and that resulted in a BFN the only reason I even tested was b/c we were going to a holiday party and I didn’t want to drink if I could have possibly been pregnant. I kept waiting for AF to show up b/c I refused to waste a test when I had no symptoms except a late pd. I waited for 3 more days from AF’s due date and went and bought three dollar tree test (for $2.19 each) and was going to test the next morning with FMU but woke up to AF the next day!

I refuse to test early to only get AF when she is due. If I find myself late again; I’ll test around the 4-5 days late maybe even stretch it to 6 days since that’s what AF came the only other time I was late. I prefer the let down of seeing AF; then the BFN.
