thanks... the glass was very old. The room was done in the 80's and provided no insulation qualities and was crazy hot when the sun was shining in-- even in fall/winter, so in the summer-- it was like living on the center of the sun. It was impossible to cook in the kitchen, which the room is right off of-- and it also affected the thermostat and changed the temp of the whole house.
We now have a solid roof and high efficiency windows. We'll have to wait til summer to see how it changes the temp in the house. The aesthetic change was a huge bonus, but not the main reason we did it.
