GE Monogram appliances? Any reviews?

We have a friend who got us her employee discount for GE. We can get the appliances 40% off retail so we want to take advantage of this but the reviews I am reading are giving me pause.

Any feedback on Monogram or the newer Cafe series?

we have in our house... previous owners put them in when they did the kitchen over probably about 4 or so years ago at this point.

We had put in GE profile in our apt when we updated to SS, and our appliances were probably older than the ones in our new house at the time we moved in.

I personally think the Profile ones are better and held up better. Now, in our apt-- everything didn't get the wear and tear that the ones in the house did--we bought from a family of 4 with 2 teenage sons and a huge dog. But, the dishwasher is in terrible shape on the inside and I hate the side by side fridge. The stove/oven I like, and the rack slides out as opposed to pulling it out, so it's very convenient.

So, everything works fine, but IMO doesn't hold up well.

Thanks- I thought so too! I looked at the Cafe series and it was so better made. I think we are going to pass on the Monogram- I think the Cafe is a better deal. It's similar to the Profile but with different styling. The double oven comes with the pull out rakes just like the Monogram. Honestly, the only thing I did like was the oven in the Monogram brand.

and also, there is no monogram microwave or the reviews are absolutely horrible.

The previous owners didn't put one in-- we got a Sharp which just goes on countertop since we weren't able to install over the range.
