What can I expect from my first appt. with a RE?
I have decided I'm going to call for an appt. with a RE. What is the first appt. usually like? Is it good to bring DH? I'll bring my temp charts - should I bring anything else?
Also, my cycle has been so wacky this month. I'm on cd 30 and have no idea if or when I O'd. I've been feeling something like O pain for over a week now and my temps have been all over the place. So basically I have no idea when AF will come. Will the RE want to examine me? Should I wait until after AF comes to make the appt. or is it better to try to go asap in case they want to start testing/bloodwork from the beginning of my next cycle?
Sorry for all the questions! Thanks for reading this!

I would absolutely bring your DH with you. A good part of the appointment will be answering questions about your medical history and your DH's too. They will most likely do bloodwork and through that, they will be able to see if you recently O'd or if AF is on it's way. They will also order a SA for your DH. At my first appointment, they did an internal exam, but IDK if that's typical.
Good Luck!!
ETA: I wouldn't wait for AF to come to make an appointment. Your initial appointment will just be your doctor understanding you and your body. Your next appt will most likely be on CD3 for bloodwork/sono.

I agree! It was like a history, what I want, what my DH wants.
I had to go back the next day because I needed a lot of bloodwork for the first time I went, but needed to fast.

Re: What can I expect from my first appt. with a RE?
Definitely bring DH- it's important for you both to talk to your RE together for both medical history and for signing forms, etc. Don't be surprised. They're going to start bloodwork and testing right away! It's helpful to know your cycle day, and they will ask you when you ovulate each month. Aside from BBT, have you ever used an OPK or CBEFM? It's just all part of the tracking process for O.
Best of luck! You're being proactive, which is a positive

Def bring DH since they will want to get some bloodwork from him...if you have done any bloodwork I would bring that...my first RE I didnt have an exam just bloodwork...the 2nd one they did an internal sono, breast exam & blood..I would go in before AF since they will want to do some baseline bloodwork and you will have to go back anyway for CD3 tests...Good luck!!!
