Kuerig owners I have a question for you...
Just got one for Christmas and am loving it. Just a couple of questions for you -
How often do you clean it?
Do you use only bottled/filtered water to make the coffee?
Where is the cheapest place to buy those little cup things? Are they all only good for one cup?
THANKS SO MUCH IN ADVANCE!!!!!!

Re: Kuerig owners I have a question for you...
I havent cleaned mine out but it def needs one Ive been using mine since may.
I always use the filtered water.
I bought the reusuable kcup and bought the huge bag of DD coffee from BJs. The cup was $15 and we havent even made a huge dent in the coffee bag since Christmas. You can look online for websites that sell them but I think they all average the same price for the box. I usually get the cups from BBB and use my 20% coupons or the $5 coupons

Re: Kuerig owners I have a question for you...
We bought the filter for inside the Keurig and just use tap water. I believe DH has cleaned it at least twice. We get K-cups from BBB, Keurig.com (I think you get something free when you register your machine) and bigcatcoffee.com. The k-cups are only good for one use.

Haven't cleaned it yet
We use tap water - I see no benefit of using filtered water
We order them straight from the green mountain site. DH has one at work too

Re: Kuerig owners I have a question for you...
I clean it when it looks dirty and use regular tap water.
As for k-cups, they are too expensive for me so to save I use the solofill resuable k-cups and buy bags of coffee grounds. Works great! I save so much $$ and can vary the strength by adding coarser or finer grounds or packing it lightly or more compact.

They tell you to use filtered or bottled water, to extend the life of the machine. Without it, you may have mineral/chemical buildup which may clog up the whole system.

I use the filtered water from my fridge. I try to clean it every 3 months or so. I buy the coffee mostly at costco. Not much of a selection but its like $37 for 80 compared to $11.99 for 18. Otherwise I got to bed bath and beyond and use the 20% off coupons.

ya but depends on how "hard" your water is. I've had mine for almost 3 years and have always used tap water and haven't had any issues. I did have an issue when I used the disposable kcup backwards one day and I bent the pin in the k cup holder. I called customer service and they sent me a new one and i fixed it myself!
As far as cheapest places to buy the k cups? I buy a big box at BJs but they're the same price mostly everywhere (I think when i've done the math its .55 a cup). You should sign up on kuerig.com and sometimes they send special offers for the boxes or you can do BBB with a coupon.

Re: Kuerig owners I have a question for you...
We've had ours for a little over a year and we like it. The directions say to run vinegar through about once every 6 months to clean the inside. I've done that once since we've had it and it was easy. The outer parts and water tank are hand wash only. We use tap water. The k-cups are only good for one drink. We get them on amazon and also Bed,Bath,&Beyond (you can use the 20% off coupon).
