Colic Constipation Chaos..........

Hi all,

My wife (groovypeg) and I wondered if ya can give some advice.......

Hannah has been a major wreck today.

In fact I would say that this has been the roughest day since we brought her home.

She is just "out of her skin" if ya know what I mean.....

Anyway she has not pooped in a couple of days and though we know FF babies may go less, it appears to be really paiful to her.

We were told that we may give some juice. Pear for example

How much do you dilute and how much would you give.

She's 8+ lbs and 2 months in our world

Hi, we went through the SAME thing at that age with our son. He went from going every day, several times, to not going at all for a few days. My doctor suggested prune juice. I believe he said 1/2 oz. mixed with 1/2 oz. water. But my little man was bigger, he was about 10 lbs. We didn't end up needing to give it to him. We helped him out with the 'thermometer' trick someone told us about. But my sister ended up doing the prune juice for her daughter and she said she definitely went after that!

I know how hard it is, our son CRIED AND CRIED for the first 2 1/2 months, but it really did get MUCH better. He's 3 months now and an angel!

Some other options are:

Sitting her in a warm bath
Taking warm cotton balls and putting them on her tooshie
Water

Warm baths used to work wonders in those days. We didn't even want her to poop in the tub...but somehow she always did! Hope she's feeling "normal" soon!

DS was going once/twice a week when we switched to formula and my dr. said to give him water. If he didn't like the water to give him DARK corn sryup and water, 1 tsp. to 1 oz of water. I finally gave into the corn sryup and he went three time that day and didn't struggle and it wasn't watery. I try to give him a 8 or 9 oz. bottle of water and corn sryup a day or every other day and it really helps him.
