fmu for opk?

sorry to ask so many questions today...but im a newbie and have no one else to really talk to about this...

I have been using a first response digital OPK with fmu, but also ordered the test strips from amazon. they just arrived and they dont list any instructions as far as what time to test. Can i test when i get home from work or would i need to wait til tomorrow morning to use them?

I asked a similar question a month or so ago and was told that fmu is actually not the best for opks. In the afternoon, or when you get home from work, is actually probably better, but try not to pee for at least a few hours before testing and also limit your fluid intake beforehand. But, as you think you're getting closer to your O date, you could also try testing first thing in the morning as well as in the afternoon so as not to miss your surge. I got the cheap tests from Amazon for that reason. Good luck!

thanks for the reply. i actually just read up on it and realized FMU is not the way to go. prob should have read it before i started with the digital one that was $$$ well i am on cd19 now which means there is a good chance i missed my surge this month. next month ill pay more attention and read directions

don't feel bad! I made the exact same mistake my first month using OPKs!

I used FMU when using my OPK. I also tested during the early evening on days that I thought I was o'ing. I didn't get a :) on CD 13 at 7P but I got one with FMU on CD14.

The clearblue opks I'm using say to use fmu so that's what I've been doing. Goodluck!

i always get the most consistent results testing around 4-6pm.

i hold my pee after lunch and test as soon as I get home
