Sponges in the dishwasher?
Do you throw your sponges in the dishwasher?
I just toss them and get a new one every few weeks or so, but I read that running them in the dishwasher sanitizes them and you can use them longer.
I never thought of that!

I just read that you should do this AT LEAST everytime you run the dishwasher....I always use a new sponge every 2 weeks, but now I throw it in the dishwasher as well....sponges skeeve me out!

I put mine in the microwave. Its the heat that sanitizes them.

I do it when I remember! JUst throw it on the top rack or in one of the silverware compartments.
I more often zap it in the microwave for 2 minutes every few days. I hate the smell of stinky sponge, especially when it gets on my hands!
