hsg test
So after taking a couple of months off from ttcing - 4 months to be exact dh and I have decided to jump on the ttcing train again. I had my blood test done on day 3 and having my hsg done on Fri.
Question - does it hurt?

It really depends. Mine did not hurt at all. But others will tell you it did. I took advil a little bit before. I did not have any blockage....I think if you do it might hurt more cause the dye can open the blockage.

I am getting one done on Friday too. DH just got the SA test. Another bizzaro experience. I didn't want to do all this, but hey, it's been over 10 months. I just don't want to waste time. Ofcourse, I am nervous too : ( I was given antibiotics to take the day before, day of, and day after. I hate this stuff. I figure I got a tooth pulled and dental implant, I can handle this. I am also going to take advil beforehand.

mine did not hurt at all..but i did not have blockages..i have heard if u have a blockage it can be painful.
i took 2 asprin before...whole thing took 5 min and hurt for a sec when they insert the dye but it over in the blink of an eye
i had minor cramping and bleeding the rest of the day...bring a pad bc the one they give u is like a phone book

Mine only hurt a little bit during the test, but after the test I didn't have a very good reaction to the dye. I had severe cramping that whole night, which turned into severe soreness the next day. By the third day it went away. Dr said it was just a bad reaction to the dye.
I have heard alot of people not have any problems at all though, everyone is different. Good luck!

I had one recently and it was ok. Too the antibiotics the day before and some advil 30 minutes before. I thought the test hurt, but then again I think my pap hurts. But it only lasted a few minutes, once the test was over I was fine.

My right side is completely blocked. The HSG didnt really hurt to much, just cramping while injecting the dye but bearable. Good luck!!!!

I had two bad cramps (worse than AF but bearable). It wasn't awful....mostly just uncomfortable.

I did the hsg yesterday. It didn't "hurt" except for a cramp for a second..not a big deal. For me, the pain has been all day today and yesterday which started a few hours after the test. Everyone is different but I'm sure you will be fine. I think I am the exception.

Thanks! Turns out it took one minute and I had no blockage.  It moderately hurt, but was over quick.

Your welcome, when I was having my horrible pain, I did some research and found quite a few people who had little pain during the test but alot of pain a few hours later.

mine didnt hurt. supposedly it catake advil before.n help you get pg by clearing the tubes
