lovenox girls..

ok so i have been on this for a long time..i know the drill lol

i am on 200 mg a day

today when i injected i pulled the needle out and i started to bleed..really bleed..

i have bled before wiped or held pressure and it stopped

this poured out like a faucet and dripped all down my stomach onto my legs and did not stop..

it was dark purple..looked like liquid jelly

i freaked out and called my mom...who is paralyzed and in a wheel chair so what was she gonna do ..and she just kept saying put pressure it will stop

it finally did after like 10 min...

what did i do wrong..year and a half on this..never bled like this

did i hot a vein or something? is my blood looser lol bc of the meds and thats why i just kept bleeding

my hemo did warn me about being careful bc of the bleeding..i can only imagine if i cut myself or something

my first guess was a big vein... is Tommy home... id just have someone keep any eye on you tonight... just to be safe!

I once did lovenox in the morning and by 5 that night it was still bleeding. I remember i had a gauze on it and noticed while I was at the mall that I was soaking through the gauze!! I emailed Dr.B and he said it was normal

That only ever happened once like that where it bled and bled.. but occasionally I will have it where it pours out. I'm on 80mg/day though......

that happened to me when I OD'ed on the heparin when i was in DR. I was bleeding all day and all night long for days.
I;d email dr b, but I'm pretty sure it's normal. You're on a relatively high dose and its a blood thinner so you're going to bleed!

It has not happened to me but I'm sure you just picked a bad spot.

The dose you are on will definitely make you bleed quite a bit so that combined with a bad spot and it was a lot of blood.

I was also told you can buy a clotting pen st the drug store that might be good to have on hand. It wil help in cases where you accidentally cut yourself

i laughed when the hemo asked me if i tend to fall or cut myself..i was like um yea..i have broken like 3 bones stitches about 5 times..tore my acl..snipped off my finger on a meat slicer and burned half my arm on a grill

my mom use to say i should live in a bubble

i am very very accident prone
