DH and SA

So, February will be a year we are trying and I have an appt with my doctor already to see what the next step is if we are not pregnant. I have 2 questions....what do you think the next step will be for me?
And should I call and get a script for Dh to get SA now or wait til I go to the doctor? What have most of you done?

Re: DH and SA

Your dr will be able to give your husband a script for a SA. Chance are they'll run the SA first because it's completely non-invasive as results are available quickly. If that's normal, they'll start bloodwork and an u/s on you. It'll take a month for your tests since you have to cycle for all the tests. When all the information is in, you're dr will be able to make a recommendation for next steps.

Do you have an appt with your gyno or with an RE?

Re: DH and SA

we started all the preliminary test together, including a SA. I think every OB /RE is different.
From my experience, I would def have a SA done because as the pp said, its much less invasive than any other testing.
Good luck!

If you are going to an OB, they may send you to an RE, and one of the inital tests is an SA. they may do lab work on you, sono, or evaluate to see how your cycles are. try to see if you are ovulating regularly, see how your cycles are. Good luck..

Re: DH and SA

The first thing my OB sent me for was the HSG and DH for the SA. And my OB had me temping to make sure I was ovulating

It wasn't until I went to an RE that I had more testing done.

Re: DH and SA

We tried for a year, but knew ahead of time that we would had MF issues. We saw a RE and when I had my HSG, DH did his SA.
