Would you buy this home?
Your uncle (my dad’s brother) and his wife once owned the house. We do not talk to my dad’s side of the family at all. My uncle passed away almost 15 years ago and his wife sold it maybe 2 or 3 years after he passed away.
The house would be perfect I think for us and I love the lay out, but I keep going back to my uncle and his family lived there. And I guess bc we don’t talk to that side of the family , it seems odd for us to purchase it. (when my uncle passed we did talk to them and the family, we only stopped talking over the last 8 years due to my dad’s drug issues)
The house is 4 bedrooms , 2 ½ baths, living room, kitchen, dining room, huge family room, office, 2 car garage. Nice size back and side yard, in ground pool and on a dead end street. Its also a much better school district.

Re: Would you buy this home?
Why not? Once you move in, you can renovate and redecorate it to make it your own home.
How does your side of the family feel about you buying it? If the house brings back bad memories to those you care about then that's something to think about, it not, go for it.

Re: Would you buy this home?
Probably. Seems like since it was sold about 12 years ago, someone else has already lived there (that was not your family).
But I can understand you feeling strange about it. I see nothing wrong with you buying it, it all depends on how you feel. GL! Sounds like a tough decision.

Re: Would you buy this home?
skip it. for a number of reasons
1) family rifts suck and if you were ever talking iwth them again they can see things differnetly than you and feel weird about it.
2) when buying a house 50% of the time you are cursing the previoius owners for things, it creates a bad stuation when they're people you actually know.
I knwo sometimes it seems like there aren't houses out there, but keep loooking

Re: Would you buy this home?
if i loooooved the house, nothing would stop me.
Unless it was Sadam Hussein's palace.
I'd pass on that. Too much history of violence annd death, corruption, and boom-boom rooms.

If it were me, I would consider it for sure. It's just a house after all and if it has everything you're looking for and you love it I don't see why you shouldn't make an offer.

I wouldnt. Too much potential for family drama or gossip in the future.
