Christmas Eve Brunch?
I'm hosting DH's family. About 15 people. I'm also working the night shift the 23rd into the 24th. They're coming around 12-1:00. I'd love ideas for dishes to serve that are either easy, or can be prepared in advance. I spoke to both SILs and they are on board with each of us making a few things, to ease everybody's burden. I was thinking of doing appy-style/finger foods and they were in agreement. Any suggestions of stuff I can make that doesn't come frozen in a box?
Or, maybe I should do regular dishes but set it up buffet-style on the island rather than having a formal sit-down. What do you think?
This is what I'm thinking so far for the appy style:
Quiche Stuffed mushrooms Crescent roll things with ham, spinach & herb cheese inside Pigs in a blanket (DH loves these) Salami/cheese/crackers Veggie platter with dip Fruit salad
Buffet-style:
Spiral ham with nice rolls (or deli platter) Glazed baby carrots Penne a la Vodka Quiche

Not sure if you want a breakfast food in there (like pancakes/waffles type thing) but you could always make baked french toast!
