OBGYN Recommendation
Anyone have a good obgyn recommendation? Ideally, I'd like to stay in Nassau but if you have a great one in Suffolk (not too far out) or Queens (Bayside, etc.), that works too.
I'm looking to switch drs. I like mine but I sometimes feel like just a number with her and it seems impersonal, like how quickly can we finish so she can move onto the next patient. I'd like to get pregnant in the next year so I'd like to be with someone new at least for a bit and get to know him/her and feel comfortable. I don't want to be with my current dr for my pregnancy.
TIA!

Re: OBGYN Recommendation
You didn't mention what hospital you'd like....if Winthrop I highly recommend Complete Women's Healthcare in Garden City. I use Dr. Dilena (he delivered my DD) - but the other 2 dr's in the practice are just as great - Dr. Nadell and LoPresti. They are at 877 Stewart Ave in Garden City and the phone is 516-683-6800.

Good point. I actually thought you chose the dr and went to the hospital they had privileges at. Is that not how it works? I think I have some research to do.
Thanks so much for the info!

Well I guess it works either way. I know some girls who are adamant about delivering at a particular hospital...my friend demands a private room so she will only go to a hospital where she is guaranteed one. My other friend's 1st baby had health issues so a hospital with a great neo-natal unit is really important to her. So some choose hospital first - then look for a dr affiliated with that hospital.
For me - it's all about the doctor. I WORSHIP mine..been going to him since my early 20's...so even though I now moved out of state, I still go to him....the hospital has absolutely no bearing on me. If I had to fly for him I would - luckily I'm only a 45 min drive away!!!
