Opinion needed (re: microwave over stove)
ladies- we moved into our house this weekend and didnt realize- there is NO microwave!
the space over the oven is very small...
do you think its feasible to put a microwave over this stove? or would it look ridiculous

You're going to have to either get a counter-top model, or modify one of the cabinets, either over the stove to make enough room for the microwave, or one of the other cabinets to have either a shelf for a counter-top model, or hang a mounted microwave.

Re: Opinion needed (re: microwave over stove)
We have a similar set up right now and there is room for a microwave in place of the range hood. You need about 18 inches between the bottom of the microwave to the top of the oven. ETA: We have 17 3/4 inches and it is fine because there is room in the front. There is room for my 12 quart pot on any burner with the strainer inside. It is fine. I think someone who is under 5' would have a problem with the placement though.

We have a similar set up. If I could choose, I would put the micro in the counter. I am short, so it's kind of tough to get things in and out. Also, I almost set myself on fire daily if I am getting things in and out of micro and gas is on.
