What Makes You A Candidate for IUI?
Just trying to understand if this is an option for me. DH has ED so is having trouble 'performing under pressure' during those critical O days...would IUI help in this case? Does anyone else have this problem??

My BFF had one because they both had issues. She wasn't ovulating regularly so they put her on meds and her DH had low motility.

i dont really have an answer for you...the people i know that have had IUIs done were bc they (the ladies) had problems. logically it seems that you would be a candidate. has dh tried medication? that may be the first step before an iui but im not sure. your best bet may be to call your dr and speak to them sorry cant be more helpful

he probably should start by seeing a doctor- primary or urologist to see what the issue is, get to the boottom of it. IUIs can help if there's issues with his sperm, among other things. But he has to produce into a cup- in the office or at home- and that might be even more anxiety producing that what's going on right now.

I totally understand where you are coming from...my DH also has "performance anxiety" and I would get super frustrated when we doing TI but we moved onto IUI since I have both cervix and ovulation issues...it has def helped us since with the IUI he just has to produce one sample the day of the IUI and you should BD within 2-5 days before so the pressure was def alleviated...My DH generally doesnt have this problem normally its mainly now that that we have been TTC...I know its hard and the key is to just communicate and not give up if it doesnt work the first time around.
Good luck

Thanks for your kind words ladies...
Yes, DH has been to Dr's before and no help really, even with pills, so figured we need to start thinking about some alternatives.

There are other ways for them to get your husband's swimmers out...surgically is the most drastic, yet effective, way. I recommend going to see a urologist who specializes in male infertility. GL!
