Almost 13
What age was the child when you went on a cruise last?
We have never been on a cruise and I still stand by my answers

Oh, I thought you have been on a cruise before so you were familiar with the kids club and the tween/teen club. Thanks

Nope, just read a lot on the cruise critics boards. We were going to go last February, but ended up somewhere else.

Oh ok. I read them all the time when we plan cruises. I love them and they are very helpful. Did people say bad things about the kids clubs?

Re: is there anyone here who DOESN'T like cruises?
I think bad things can happen in any kids club/ land or sea, my DH was around 7 years old, in a kids club at Club Med, and almost died when he fell down a drainage ditch cause they were playing ghost in the dark. His parents were out to dinner and he broke his wrist and split his lip pretty bad, ruined their whole trip.

Wow, that is horrible
I agree that things can happen anywhere though and just like at home, I wouldn't want my kids to miss out on meeting other children and enjoying kids things while on vacation.

So why can't YOU do these things with them? My family does kid things together when we are away. We call it making memories.

I never said we do not do kid things when we are on vacation (speaking only of cruises as my kids never went in any kids groups on vacations except for cruises). We never leave them on the boat when it docks, they are not gone from us all day long either. They enjoy to have their own time too though. Especially my older one who was 12 at that time. They enjoy meeting other people their own age too and I find nothing wrong with them going to the kids clubs as long as they are not in it all day and night.
