Just thought I would share....

If you all remember I have had crazy cycles since coming off BCP in June....

So I had my 6 month routine check-up (I go every 6 months due to the fact that my aunt died from ovarian and breast cancer). The NP said that since we know I am ovulating and and getting AF regularly (she said I just have long cycles) she is not concerned... she would be if it was more like every 90 days. Since its only been 5.5 months of TTC she said try to wait another 6 months, but if in a few more months nothing happens, if I want she will start blood work before the 6 months since I am 32 and a little worried.

Also... due to the cancer history, they do a pelvic sono every year or 2... I had it 2 years ago, so we scheduled one for next week and hopefully that will give us peace of mind that their is no cysts or anything else contributing to my no BFP and crazy cycles or if there is problem we will know.

did they do bw to make sure youre ovulating?

did they say anything about checking your tubes? what about getting a sa ?

sorry. i know how bad you want a bfp and some docs dont find it neccessary to run these test unless youve been trying for a year

no, they didn't do bw to make sure i am ovulating. she said I am because I am getting AF in a somewhat regular way and I am seeing that I ovulate on the ovulation tests, temping confirmed they are correct and i have consistetly had ovulation pain and I know my LP is exactly 2 weeks. She has no doubt that I am ovulating... she wants me to try atleast another 3 months before we do any bw. I feel ok with that tho... since I finally see that there is some consistency with my crazy cycles! And if the sono comes back clean then I that will be something to put me at ease.

I have been ready to be mom forever, I guess I am just impatient. Does not help that everyone around me has a baby or is pregnant.... I know... i am preaching to the choir here.... sorry.

have you been temping? the doctor's reasoning (your cycle isnt THAT long, therefore youre ovulating) isnt very proactive..

I would go for blood work as a baseline.

I was furious when I learned after TTC for 4mos my Doctor only screened me for cystic fibrosis and chicken pox, I thought I had a full panel done.

Anyway 5 more cycles later when I finally went to an RE my first blood test revealed I had Hashimoto's disease (an underactive thyroid) although it may or may not have anything to do with not getting pregnant, I need to be on meds for life and wish I knew about it sooner.

I think when considering TTC getting some blood work done, even a regular physical is so important.

i think u r ok!

if u r ovulating and it was confirmed u could just have longer cycles..esp coming off bc..

as for hsg's and sa and all that other good stuff,could you do all that,sure

but i am with ur doc bc as we all know it can take up to a yr to concieve...sometimes i think these boards can make us a bit nuts and want to jump the gun..i mean if u have fertility issues then of course but if not i dont see trying all natural before

it is all what u r comfy doing..if u want to go for some blood work or a hsg for peace of mind,def go for it

good news is you are ovualting..that is a big step!
