Made an offer on a house!!!!! UPDATE!!!!!!!
Holy crap!!!!
So. The house was listed, we made an offer and they just countered.
We just spoke with out realtor and they are going to re-counter.
The waiting is killing me!!!!!

WE HAVE A DEAL!!!!!!!!
We thought they were going to hold fast to their number, or only come down by MAYBE, another $5,000.
But they came in, seeing our pre-qualification, and knowing we are VERY desirable buyers, and we agreed on a number!!!!!!
IM GOING TO THROW UP.
I would share the numbers to give others an idea of what we did and how we negotiated, but not sure if thats considered tacky?

Good luck! Sometimes negotiations take awhile -- people want to sleep on it, think about it, etc. But the waiting is definitely hard. Fingers crossed!

Our biggest problem is the husband is a football fiend. He has not allowed ANY open houses on Sundays, and wont even TALK about anything during football.
Idiot. If soeone wants to spend just shy of a million dollars on your house, I would THINK you could pull yourslef away fromt he TV......

congrats!
I too felt ill after our offer was accepted. Even moreso after I wrote the big check at contract.
Once closing day approached, I was fine.
Broke, but fine.

Congratulations!!!!! I felt ill when we went into contract and wrote the big check too, but I am fine now! We will see how I am at closing
so exciting!!!

Great news! Congratulations. Sometimes patience pays off.
I so agree that price, while important, isn't the be all/end all when it comes to negotiations. Other terms, such as the qualification of the buyer, play a big role, too. And the agent's presentation of the offer can really make or break a deal. Glad it worked out how you wanted!
As far as sharing info, obviously share what you are comfortable with, but I would NOT give any identifying info (MLS #, street/town, photos) and price at this point. I am sure you know this, but until you are fully in contract, neither party is locked in. The seller could always take a higher or better offer, so you don't want to invite someone to try to steal the house from you!
Not saying anyone on this site would do that , but it is a public forum, so just be careful in order to protect yourself.
