Clomid
This is my first round of clomid. I am starting 50mg today CD5. I have irregular cycles ranging from 30-45 days. The longer cycles are usually anovulatory. Will Clomid make my cycle shorter? Can you still ovulate late in your cycle on it?
Thanks girls!

Re: Clomid
Clomid will help your follies mature faster than ur body will do naturally. Some people need a trigger shot to release the eggs some dont. Also, some ppl dont respond to clomid at all and have to move onto imjectibles (i tried femara, which is similar, didnt do anything for me but my hormones are really out of wack). Youll know in a week or so when you go back for monitoring how you respond. U will typically have a normal length cycle when getting IF treatments.
Hope its a success!

Re: Clomid
if it works for you then you will def ovulate earlier. since you are going in on CD12 they will have a rough idea if it worked or not and then can trigger you accordingly. it doesnt work for everyone.

I'm going to be starting Clomid soon and I was wondering what Ovidrel is. Is it something they give you in conjunction with Clomid?

Re: Clomid
Clomid helped to shorten my cycles but I still wasn't ovulating on my own so I get HCG injections on CD16.

Re: Clomid
Ovidrel is an HCG shot to trigger the release of an egg. I am taking clomid days 5-9 and then they will tell me when to trigger.

Re: Clomid
I started clomid at the 50mg dose and have long cycles like yours...at the 50mg my cycle went long and I O'd on day 31 after RE gave me Provera...when I went up to 100mg the last cycle I did O earlier at day 22 and had an IUI. I should be starting again tomorrow at 150mg and I am guessing I may O even earlier than last cycle. Good luck to you!

Re: Clomid
I took 50mg of clomid from CD5-9 and it def made my cycle shorter! I was having cycles longer than 60 days and while on clomid my cycles were 33days. I also had a prescription filled for Ovidrel but never had to take it cause I O'd on my own.
