What exactly is CD 1 (TMI alert)
I know that people have asked this before but I am going to start CD 3 blood work and I feel like I don't know when that is. I spot for a long time before (i think) my period starts, but what exactly is the start, how do I know when spotting has ended and AF has begun?
Flow confuses me because it's about the same. Is it color?  Sorry to ask that but that has been my best guess so far and since I will now have to test on CD 3 I can't guess when that is.

how long does it usually last? they will tell you cd1 is the first day of your full or heavy flow. I can tell the difference between heavy spotting and full flow, but that's me. Your doc will likely see you between CD 2-5 for CD3 testing, so it doesnt have to be exact.

ita..when u really need the pad to me is day 1..do u get the heavy flow or is it always light?

Thats the problem, the flow is the same except for usually about one day where it is heavier. Is it possible that the whole thing is my period? Mixing this up would be a problem for testing because the spotting lasts for sometimes a whole week, so I will be 7 days off if I am making a mistake. I usually count day one as the first time I see red instead of brown.
