I've seen so many turkey cooking/lb times?

Which is right?

The brining recipe I'm using says a 14-16lb should be done between 2-2 1/2 hours?

I guess just go with the thermometer, 161degrees right? But I'm trying to plan my cooking times.

I have a 12.7lb turkey that I'm bringing.

If you're using the AB recipe it takes less time because you cook it at 500 for 1/2 an hour. Do you have a digital thermometer?

Yes, I'm using that one. I bought a digital one that you can keep in. So I guess go off that?

It said place on a roasting rack...does that mean the thing that lifted them up? That came with the pan?

Yes, the wiry looking thing. Mine looks like a big V made out of metal.

Ok, yes, that's what I have. I'm good at following a recipe, but I don't want to mess this upChat Icon

OMG, I'm so nervous for you! I hope it turns out as fabulous as it does for me. Did you find the ginger?

Oh yeah I got everything. I even know ginger is cheaper in the Asian section $2.99 VS baking section $9.99.

I was even able to find brining bags in fresh market & the turkey fits perfect in my fridge....thank god for a 28.8cu ft fridge!!!

I have made turkeys before, but the recipe threw me with times, thermoment in breast (I always did thigh), and I never use the roasting rack.

I hope I get the results everyone raves over!

I'm trying it, cause with 2 LOs, I don't want to be basting all day LOL
