staining floors ~ can't use oven??
So, I'm having my staircase refinished and stained, etc and was told I can't use my oven/stove for a few days.
I had no idea.......was this your experience as well?

DH said if you have an electric stove you can use it. If its gas, dont. It could start a fire b/c its oil based and the fumes could cause for some problems.

I have an electric stove but gas heat.
I'm so confused. Wouldn't then putting on heat also potentially cause an issue?
Not using my stove for 3 or 4 days......***. Wish I had known sooner...

Re: staining floors ~ can't use oven??
A coworker told me that just a few days ago, he was staining wood in his basement with oil-based stain. After they ran some clothes through the dryer, all the clothes smelled like turpentine. Apparently, the dryer (and probably a stove as well) will pull in the fumes and impregnate whatever is currently in those devices. I don't think it's a gas vs electric issue. I think it's a heat and fumes issue.....
