The Great Holiday Debate
All this TTC talk has got me and DH talking about what life will be like with kids. Which brought up the holiday debate. How should we split the holidays? Most importantly Christmas!
IMO Christmas will be spent with my side of the family FOREVER, but I can see the fit that MIL will have.. Have you guys talked about this?

Re: The Great Holiday Debate
Once we have kids and a house, we plan on hosting holidays until my sister has kids and then we'll figure something else out. We like to host stuff, but our apartment is too little to comfortably hold our families. Luckily my ILs and my folks get along so we share holidays with them already

Re: The Great Holiday Debate
We will most likely either host at our house; or invite inlaws to each others homes. If my FIL hosts; i will extend the invite to my parents. Other wise; we'll have to split the days-1/2 day at FIL 1/2 day with my parents.

Re: The Great Holiday Debate
DH and I have had crazy Christmas since we started dating b/c his parents live OOS and so does 1 of his brother's. We used to spend Christmas Eve with my family and then fly out to his parents on Christmas morning. Every other year they would come to NY and stay with us. (Which pretty much drove me crazy more than flying on Christmas morning) Luckily his dad is looking to retire and move closer, b/c once we have kids I will not be flying anywhere on Christmas morning.

Re: The Great Holiday Debate
My family has always celebrated Christmas Eve big so we will be at my parents on Christmas eve where all of my side will be, and Christmas day will be spent going to Church and having brunch with my parents, and then going to my ILs in the evening

Re: The Great Holiday Debate
Well my Dad/Stepmom are oos and I don't see them around the holidays much (just too expensive to fly although we are thinking of driving this year not sure what the weather will bring ~ they live in Oklahoma) ~ so we usually spend with the hubby's family.
