Type of Ceiling-Any designers?
I need help with my bedroom ceiling. The bedroom is very large: approximately 26X17 feet. The ceilings are currently 8 feet high. I am having the ceiling raised, but I don't know what to do with it. Do I vault it? Cathedral? Tray? Coffered?
I am also raising the ceiling in the master. I think I am doing a barrel but have not decided yet.
I have to make a decision within a few days. Any ideas or pictures?

Re: Type of Ceiling-Any designers?
coffered ceilings can be cool, but I think generally they are so overwhelming.
I like them for studies/living rooms/libraries, but not really master bedrooms, but that's just me.
Traditional vaulted ceilings are nice, but a bit too simple for my liking. I feel like they are so common.
I like tray ceilings for bedrooms and kitchens.
and I love cathedral ceilings in alllll and every room, if possible. LOOVE. the ONLY issue is with heat - heat rises, a lot of it goes to waste, and your heating bill gets high. Just something to note, especially if you have oil.
I love ceilings - I feel they can so make a room. I also adore beam work in addition to high ceilings.

We have gas, not oil. I am not changing the roof line so I am limited by the roof.
