running central heat without humidifier

i have central ac / heat. it is the first time i am changing the system over. the humidifier inside the unit is old and gross. DH took it out last week and threw it in the garbage... he ordered a new one, but it has yet to arrive. im freezing and want to turn the heat on without the humidifier until it comes and can be installed. do you think this will create a problem with my unit?

I would be inclined to think it is fine. We have central heat and when we moved in there wad no humidifier at all. I think it is just an option so that your air isnt too dry. When we redid our heating system we had one installed but it was an add on.

You should be fine... Previous homeowner ripped out humidifer and we were using it without for a couple yrs... We got a new system a couple months ago and decided not to add on humidifier... Was told that more people have issues with that so we might just get one for our bedroom so we dont wake up stuffy in the morn

We have one, but I honestly don't see that it makes a difference. We've turned it off just to see, and not much.
