Mortgage Brokers....reccommendations..please
We are trying to re-finance and I am dealing with my bank, HSBC where we have our mortgage now and I spoke to a man that helped me out and gave me payments, rates, etc. However now he is not calling me back, I know everyone is busy but I am not waiting on him anymore.
Any recommendations - for a refinace broker where everything went smooth - or a name of someone else at HSBC that can help me??
Thanks all !

Re: Mortgage Brokers....reccommendations..please
Forget the big banks. You'll get the best rates from brokers. I just checked zillow.com and found a bunch of them with great reviews too. I did it before with my first lender and am doing it again to refinance this year.
The guy I contacted was really nice and patient. He gave me a GFE breaking down the closing costs and advice on whether it made sense for me to refinance. Definitely not high pressure... The rate I got was really good too, 30 yr term at 3.875 with only 1800 total closing cost.

Unless you work with a bank and can get a reduced rate, avoid using them. They have terrible rates...

Can you share who you used? I recently contacted the mortgage broker we used when we closed but he told me it would not be worth it to refinance, so it would be nice to hear a breakdown of costs...

Re: Mortgage Brokers....reccommendations..please
The broker I'm using has the cheapest rates I've seen.
His name is Rich and his # is 856-904-3112 http://greatrate.info/Default.aspx
Nobody comes close to his rates on zillow.com. I think his rate is so low now and he's so busy doing refi, if you do a search, he's not coming up! :P
I also used American Federal Mort. before, and they don't come close either.
I'm getting 3.875 with zero points now. He's a true wholesaler, if you ask me.
Rates are also going up with Europe reaching their debt deal, so shop and compare quickly!

I've also heard good things about this broker in NY. My broker deals with NJ, but may deal with NY as well... just wanted to give you another option. His rates are great too.
