Women who do NOT ovulate and didn't know it
Before you found out that you didn't ovulate on your own did you get positive results on OPKS? Just wondering if I should get checked out b/c its been a few months, but the CBEFM and OPKs both detect a surge. TIA

if you're getting AF regularly, there's probably no reason to think you're not ovulating. it can take "normal" couples up to a year.
that said, those with PCOS have elevated LH more often than not (like me, I have enough for the entire LIF community) so there's no use for me to use OPKs.

Just wondering ya know always paranoid about something.....LOL that being said I've always had a regular period (like clock work) but never actually "felt" ovulation.

I've never got a positive on the opk and i have pcos. Even on clomid i didn't ovulate.

i knew i wasnot way before ttc...i never had my period and when i did it was far and in between
how liong have you been trying> have you gotten a ostivie every month? are your cycles regular

for those of you that don't ovulate, do you get AF? how does your body know to have AF if you don't ovulate? do you still have the rise and fall of hormones which would bring on AF?

i dont get AF and dont ovulate regularly. i get many many many +OPK that dont always follow with ovulation. i have pcos so my LH is elevated causing the +OPK and anovulation. when i do O, which is occasional and randomly timed, i do get AF afterwards.
if you want to confirm ovulation you have to temp.

I had no AF for a while... finally saw RE, went on clomid, took OPK's and no smiley, confirmed w/ doc by CD 19 when my follicles were like, nearing 30 that i probably wasn't going to O on my own, so now I take a trigger... it is possible however to have "anovulatory bleeding" if you don't O but still get AF

you can still get AF if you dont ovulate. its called an anovulatory cycle and the bleeding is called anovulatory bleeding, not menstruation. a lot of the same hormones are still in play, just in varying amts. it vary greatly from person to person.

I don't get AF....i don't think you can get AF if you don't ovulate

I don't get AF....i don't think you can get AF if you don't ovulate
you can it is called having a anovulatory cycle..i have had them many times

Yep. This is exactly what I was going to say. This is really the only true way (aside from blood work) to tell if you are ovulating or not..

I don't ovulate on my own and have gotten several near positive surges on OPKs before I went to an RE. I knew I wasn't really ovulating, because I was temping.
