when did you know how much money you needed to bring to closing?
We are closing thins afternoon and still haven't been told! Yet we need to go to the bank to get a certified check. I cannot wait for this entire process to be over!

i got a good faith estimate two days before closing and then the day i walked they admitted they forgot to tell me that i owed for the taxes for the full year so I had to scramble to write a check out for that.

Same here. We got an estimate and about 2 hours before, were told they needed more $$

They gave me a rough estimate in advance but the real numbers about an hour before closing.

We never really got "final" numbers. My boss handled our closing. We were closing at 10 am on a Tuesday. On Monday at 4:30, he told me to bring a certified check for the balance of our downpayment plus an extra $20,000 that he estimated for closing costs.

The night before..at 5:30. My attorney said he couldn't believe how late the bank was in getting him the #.

we closed at 10am and i got a call around 8am with the numbers. so i had to run to the bank and get the checks.

Thanks everyone, our lawyer called to tell us. Of course it was about $2500 more than we thought, probably because it is the beginning of the month instead of the end. YEah, almost there is right!!!!

We got a round about # but ended up walking away with 2 checks for almost $1500. They were still processing our #s at the closing table
