Looking for new OB/GYN...
I am looking for a doctor in suffolk county that is affiliated with either Stony Brook or Southside. I Love my doctor right now, but only delivers at Good Sam and I would REALLY like to have the option of having my own room and they don't offer that  TIA for any suggestions you could give me!!

I see Dr. O'Keefe at Stony Brook OBGYN here is the link to their site. Stony Brook OBGYN
I love his and his staff are great. There are also 3 others Dr's at this practice. They have offices in Setuaket, Rocky Point and Sayville.

He's great! He's a solo practice, so there is a wait often. But he loves his 3D sono machine, and he has a great personality. Very laid back! Good luck!

I go to this practice as well but see Dr. Porte. He delivered Ds#1 and will be delivering DS#2 next week. Also really like Dr. Okeefe and Dr. Welischar. I only met Dr. Lochner once and she was good also but I've seen the others more.
Highly reccomend them!

I go to Three Village Women's Health. They have an office in Patchogue and Setauket. I was very happy with them with my last pregnancy and so far with this one.

Thank you thank you!! I will check them out any idea about Stony Brook Midwives? I have heard some good things but had never even thought about having a midwife!

I just delivered at Good Sam and had a roommate...it's really not that bad. I got lucky and all 3 of them (c section 4 nights) were great
If you love your doctor I wouldn't switch over something stupid like not having a private room

I would ask how the rooming works...I know that at St. Charles, they have 2 to a room, but, if only, say 4 people deliver the same night, they put you in seperate rooms, not cram you into one. I'd check that out.
Dr. Ninia in Port Jeff does stony brook and st. charles, but told me he preferred st. charles because he was on the board and it's right down the road from the office.

This is what Good Sam does as well. When I delivered my 1st dc in late 2009 I had a shared room, but since it was a slow week I didn't have a roommate until about 3 hours before I checked out.
