woke up with a sore throat

and a little bit of head congestion, I do not know what to do . . I am on my last day of an antibiotic for a UTI and now this. I called my doctors office and they told me that I can take regular strength Sudafed.
Honestly I am a little scared to do that. Anyone know if it will do more harm if I just live with the cold til it passes?

ETA: I am 22 weeks.

I think you would be fine without medication as long as it isn't Strep Throat.

I had a very bad sore throat and cold when I was 5weeks and I was told to take nothing and just rest, drink fluids, and suck on hard candy to soothe the throat (not even Halls drops)

It may be from being pregnant and having more mucus. I have had this from about week 20 and it has progressively gotten worse.

Oh, and hubby is also sick. He went to the doctor yesterday and he has a double ear infection along with fluid in his ears. They also did a strep test on him, but we don't have those results yet. I don't know why they didn't do the rapid test and give him the results right away, he probably didn't tell the doc that I was PG
