My mom has all the supplies (paint, tiles, new doors), she just needs someone to come in and do the following - room is about 12x15:

-take down paneling
-new walls
-prime & paint new walls
-lay tile
-install two new doors
-new molding
-new small crawl space door
-put in baseboard heating (take out old radiator)

Any idea what this would cost?

we just did this to our living room- its a big room, probably like 20 x 14?? something like that- its more of a "Great room" (we have part of it set up as a dining room, part is set up as a living room.
we did a lot of the work ourselves ( took down the ugly paneling, installed recessed lights, added a couple electric outlets). but we had somebody come and put up drywall. it was $750 for them to hang, spackle, and sand all the drywall. (we live in morris county, nj). didn't think that was bad because its such a big room!
then, we had it painted. we had somebody paint the room, the ceiling, our entryway, and a new coat in our bathroom- and it was about $1200.
like i said, we did a lot of the work ourselves, but that might help give you an idea Chat Icon

A lot of times a handyman knows how to do all of this stuff and will charge you by the day.

That may be a good option, especially if there will be someone home during the day to make sure they are working the entire time they say they are.

About same size LR. Done by contractor about 1 year ago.

Remove 1 wall drywall (other 3 stayed)
Reinsulated wall
Closed 1 side of the double side fireplace
Resurface entire fireplace in drywall
Paint ceiling
Paint wall
New door
Removed carpet and installed laminate floor
crown molding.
Remove a suffet
Install surround of fireplace (wall and floor) with slate.
Move a radiator

Either $4300 or $4700 (can't remember!)

We paid $4500 for about the same size room, plus a 4x6 hallway and full bath. We bought all of the supplies ourselves. We actually had alot since it was a project DH started.

The room was gutted already.
