I can't believe I'm asking this.....Re: Brazilian waxing
I cannot believe these words are about to come out of my mouth....(so to speak).....
How long does the waxing last for? I mean, how long before I would need to get it done again? Or how long before I *should* get it done again? Is it itchy when it grows back in, like when you shave?
I'm very seriously considering getting it done this week, so any tips or suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated!!
Also, I'm pregnant.....about 5 months. Does that matter?

Mine lasts about a month before I start to feel "furry".
But seriously, I really don't get itchy..it's more about the look.
I just recently took the plunge..liking it a lot.
I call the person who does the waxing, Doctor!

the wax last about 3 weeks and definitely isn't itchy when it starts to grow back.
it doesn't matter if you're pregnant or not for the waxing.
i haven't tried this yet but i heard if you take a tylenol about an hour before the wax it won't hurt as much. but it doesn't hurt that bad to begin with IMO at least.
HTH!

Thanks for the replies!!
I'm still terrified, but I'm just going to suck it up. It doesn't seem like it's as bad as I once thought it was.

I've never had anything other than my eyebrows waxed, but it might hurt worse than when you're not PG. I know just tweezing my eyebrows hurt twice as much. I only say this because if you don't have the greatest experience with it while you're pregnant it probably won't be that bad when you're not PG.

For someone like me, who knows NOTHING about waxing, can someone fill me in. step by step. I’ve been considering getting one done, but am pretty scared and embarrassed.
Some of my other questions, and please i am sure these sound funny but they are real questions.
Are you nude from the waist down?
Is there anyone else in the room with you besides the person doing the waxing?
Is it true you have to get on all 4's?

Yes you are nude from the waist down
No it is only the waxer and you.
Depends on the waxer, I never had to get on all fours.
And please go to a place that specializes in waxing. DO NOT go to a local nail salon.

It's different for everyone, but generally it lasta bout 4 - 6 weeks before you need to be re-waxed. In the warmer weather your hair grows faster so you need to have it done more frequently.
It doesnt get itchy when it grows back like it does when you shave and it looks a heck of a lot better too.
I'll warn - it does hurt a lot the first time. But after the first few times, it really doesnt hurt anymore.
Whatever you do, DONT go to a nail place. Go to a spa or a place that specializes in waxing.

I agree with all the others. I'm 33 weeks and planning on going this weekend for my next one.
I find being pregnant my hair doesn't grow as much so I don't go as often.
