"so when are you guys having kids??"

just a vent.. i'm so sick of hearing this question! especially because all these people i know are pg or had babies recently. then they ask me (and some people, like DH's friends wives, EVERY time i see them) "so when are you guys having kids?? we can have playdates!" etc... i want to be like "well its not as easy as it seems!" but i just stick w/ "eventually" for now.. its just aggravating well, thanks for letting me vent..

I get the same thing and I say to them when it happens it happens....they usually leave it alone after that.

Really. They all just think that you have a baby when you want.

I hate that question too. I think it's incredibly rude and thoughtless. What's weird is that we've gotten that question from single people and couples who also don't have kids yet. It's not like we ever ask "When are you going to settle down and get married?" or "Why don't YOU have kids either?"

People know about our fertility issues since its been so long.. and also since I had a loss almost halfway through my pregnancy last year.. so the question I get lately is .. "So, are you still trying?!" ........ Ummm yes. If I'm not currently pregnant or have a baby in my arms then YES I am still trying!!

before i started ttc i always tried by best to ask in a nice way. more like

have you talked about having children?


poor dh had to deal with this a few weeks ago.

i overheard our neighbor ask him if we were having kids

he just answered. its not easy.

if someone asked me ill just be honest and say we're tryin but we hit a little bump. doesnt really bother me. well not yet at least

DH and I are still making people think that it's not even in the cards just yet. Any time someone brings it up we both answer something to the tune of "nope, not anytime soon..." My boss actually just asked me on Friday saying that I'm "next" (because one of the other girls in my program is due in Nov). I just turned to her and said "Nope....we're not going there right now."

DH and I have been married for four years and been together for almost 13. It's a question we've gotten since we were engaged. It's very annoying - especially since we are now the last ones in our circle of friends to even get pregnant. We just answer "not anytime soon" That way they'll leave us alone about it. It is one of the most frustrating questions to hear when you are TTC.

Originally, our answer always was..when it happens it happens. But DH have been married for more than a year, all of our friends have kids, and we are a bit older so I think everyone has sort of figured out we are trying. Now our answer if we are asked is...we are working on it. It doesn't really bother either of us to say that and no one we know gets personal about it so I'm fine with that /

I HATE this question. My friend says "we're having too much fun practicing" when people ask her.

I don't blame my preggo friends for asking. They all seem to want me pregnant, so we can all be pregnant together. I think it's a sweet sentiment. I only get PO'ed if an in-law says it or something. They're intrusive in general, so that's prob why.

I just say "we're working on it" and if they say more, i say "its in god's hands" and they shut up... you can't mess with the big guys!

People I am close with and know more about it, I share more with tho. mom, sister, close friends who have already been through this cause they are good to talk to.

we say next spring, after our 1 year anniversary trip. Nobody knows we're currently ttc-ing.
