UGH! I hate no-show contractors!
I was looking forward to talking about kitchen design options this morning. He was supposed to be here at 10am. No call, nothing.
I'm annoyed!

I leaves you with a bad taste in your mouth doesn't it? Our cabinet guy did this to us the first time too and was very close to not using him because I was annoyed. All it takes is a simple phone call!

That totally stinks!! I work in construction and I know most of these guys are hurting, begging for jobs. Totally unprofessional of this contractor, I would move on and find someone who wants the job and makes it a priority and gives it his all. End of the day, you want a job well done and this guy blew his chances in my eyes, says alot about his work ethic. Hopefully there was a miscommunication and didn't skip out on you for no reason.

I think of it this way. If a date did not show I would never go out with him again unless he had a good reason. Same with a contractor.

Re: UGH! I hate no-show contractors!
when we first bought our house we were shocked at the amount of people who show up late, we started joking around that whoever shows up on time gets the job.
well after 3 years of work on our house, that joke has turned into 'whoever shows up gets the job' lol i cant believe how many just dont show up! they must be doing that well that they dont need the work.

I hate that! So annoying & I wouldn't use them. I've had this happen, where I've called & made an appt for an estimate & the contractor was a no-show-- do they really think I'm going to trust them & hire them if they can't even keep their appts or at least call if they're not showing up?! Why is this so common??

Re: UGH! I hate no-show contractors!
This happened to my parents when they were looking for a contractor!! This is just so weird to me... not only is it an irresponsible way to run a business.... but you would think these people would WANT to meet with potential customers who will be spending lots of money!!

Re: UGH! I hate no-show contractors!
The other thing we've run into is various service contractors (trees, heating & plumbing, etc.) that came out to the house, met with us, took extensive notes and promised to send a detailed quote for the job, then never followed up. We had one surveyor that supposedly came out to do the job according to his office manager (it was during the day when we were at work), and she was just waiting for him to draw up the results so she could send them to us. After a few weeks of calling with promises from her we just finally gave up. Good thing we didn't pay in advance!

Re: UGH! I hate no-show contractors!
Ugh, the worst! Between finding a mason and an electrician, we've had 3 separate no-shows (we've only called 5 people).
Now it's like if you show up, you're hired. I can't understand how people can have a thriving business when they're running it this way.
