is my baby just lazy??

I am 32 weeks and throughout my pregnancy I have not felt strong or frequent movements. I feel her throughout the day but they are so sporadic, like a couple of kicks/punch and then that's it for a while. I get so anxious but I think she may just be a lazy girl that doesn't move that often. I have an anterior placenta so i may not be feeling her small movements, but still doesn't she know it makes me nervous to not feel her move?! Every time I go to the doc they tell me she has nice strong heartbeat so I guess shes ok...Anyone else experience this?

YESSSSSSSSSSS!!

this was an ongoing issue with me during my pregnancy with kassidy. I also had an anterior placenta.

Kassidy would kick and move every once in a while but nothing like what other preggo's felt. I would even at times go a day with no movement. I ended up in the hospital on 2 or 3 separate occasions due to movement feeling issues. each time she was moving like crazy with a great heartbeat!!

the irony of me not being able to feel her move came at the end... when she was actually an unstable lye... meaning she would move in all sorts of positions... at the end of my pregnancy. I was 39.5 weeks and she was still changing positions daily!! from breech to transverse to in position, etc. i literally went to the hospital for a movement issue at the end and she was in a new position. clearly she WAS active. I just couldn't feel her move.

After she was born... she definitely is a mover. I honestly just couldn't feel her much because of the placenta issue.

so i know it's hard, because i went through it... but try not to worry too much. this definitely DOES happen and everything is jsut fine.

My DH didn't feel her move until well after 30 weeks along.

Thanks so much for your response! It makes me feel so much better. I called my doc a few weeks back about movement issues and he told me its fine and I prob just dont feel her, I really wanted to go and just have a sono done to be sure but he didnt offer that to me I have an appt next Wed and Im praying that he will do a sono for me, the other doc in the practice told me I wouldnt be having any more sonos but Im hoping they cave...

my dr's office told me if i ever don't feel her move for 24 hours to go to the hospital and have them monitor me.
each time i had an issue i called the dr office and spoke with a nurse. it was one of the great things about my dr office... loved the staff!!
anyway whenever they sent me for monitoring it was at LIJ. at LIJ they always treated me wonderfully and seemed thorough. they encouraged me to come back whenever it happens.

i was about 28 weeks the first time i landed in the hospital for monitoring due to movement. so don't feel weird or anything for being concerned and DEFINITELY if you think something is wrong or haven't felt movement get monitored. it's for the best.

this is what happened with Elizabeth. Mary didn't feel her move for a day, went to the hospital and was sent home without being checked. She came back the next day and DEMANDED to be checked out. when they did they found a blood clot in the placenta which blocked oxygen to elizabeth for over 24 hours. had mary actually been monitored when she first went there... elizabeth's condition would have either been avoided or lessened. the doctors were completely at fault on this one. they totally dropped the ball.

not to scare you.. but better to be safe than sorry.

Thanks Kerri! Thank goodness I have felt some movements every day so I am not overly concerned, I think I make myself crazy sometimes! I think working at the hospital I see and know so much about things that could potentially go wrong and it scares the crap out of me

same here.. anterior placenta and I get always get worried.. the movements are sporadic and somedays I have to lie down and relax to feel the baby. I have brought it up to the doc couple of times and he always said, everything looks good. I'm just anxious and paranoid when I don't get the movements I "think" I should be getting..

It could be the anterior placenta or she could just be a more calm/lazy baby.

I think my babygirl is very chill. I defintely felt her more as time went on, but she wasn't moving aroundf constantly, wasnt always strong kicks, never really hurt!

Some babies are more active in the womb and some are just lounging and hanging out!!

My sis has an anterior placenta and she does not feel the same movement I do. You will feel less movement but still keep track of everything and don't be afraid to call the Dr if you feel something is wrong.
