A possible Lovenox tip for you ladies
Hi Ladies, this weekend i was getting Intralipids at my house from a nurse, she was one of those old school older smoking nurses and was awesome! She even referred to herself as an "old broad"!
I was telling her how I give myself injections and was so proud of myself and that DH had a heavy hand and used to bruise me prior, she thought I was talking about Lovenox and while so far I have not had to take that she gave me a tip about how to not bruise.
She said you pull the skin over to one side tight, inject and let the skin go. She explained because the skin is pulled over slightly when you let go the puncture site moves over slightly and seals in the medicine.
Anyway I haven't had to try but hear about the terrible bruises Lovenox leaves and thought I'd pass this along!

I have another tip, which seems to be working!!
Make sure you flick the air bubble to the top of the syringe (needle pointing down) bfore injecting. This supposedly seals in the meds at the end.

Re: A possible Lovenox tip for you ladies
I bruised sooo bad the first time I used Lovenox, and now I rarely ever bruise, and if I do it's just a small, tiny dot.
My tips:
ICE the area first!!! Ice it for awhile. This helps eliminate the burning too.
Squeeze the skin very tightly before, during, and after the shot.
GO VERY SLOWLY!!!!!!!! This helps with the burn and I think it may be why I dont bruise.
ROTATE spots! Never inject in the same spot two days in a row. Never inject in a spot that is already bruised.
Love handles = no bruises, less of a burn than the stomach area.
Do not go near the belly button!
Butt also doesn't hurt/bruise as much as the stomach.
I really only gave the shot the first time right in my stomach and got a HUGE bruise. Ever since then I do love handles or close to them, and butt and alternate sides and havent bruised. My blood dr and OB said it's fine to inject in those spots.
My blood dr actually recommended doing those spots instead of the stomach.
Hope this helps! You could also ice it after the shot. I do that sometimes when it burns.
I know most women on Lovenox have crazy bruises, and I think al of these things helped me not get them.
