Need ideas for blinds/shades for our whole house

I'm really not a fan of either. I like big open windows but of course we need our privacy at times. We just renovated our new home completely and it's time to pick out the window coverings. We have these big beautiful windows and I want them to be as open as possible when the shades are up. We also have 2 French style sliding doors and a bay window that need something. Anyone have any suggestions as to what we can use that's minimal and is not as noticeable when drawn up? Pics would be great Chat Icon

TIA

What about sheers? It'll still let light in but allow for privacy. They're inexpensive and easy to install.

Are those curtains? Or are they blinds? Sorry, I am totally new to all of this.

I am a fan of the wood slat blinds in white. We just did a few rooms with them. I just bought the faux wood from homedepot and jcpenney. You can buy stock or custom. If you dh is handy, u can shorten the stock blinds to save $$. That is what we did. I also like pleated shades we have them in the nursery but with blackout. When I get home I will post pics.

I just bought roman shades from JCP - I ordered them through the store catelog but if you go there you can see the colors in person in their binders behind the desk... they were really reasonable.

Here are some pictures so you can see how it will look drawn up. I would go for the faux wood blinds or pleated...prob not Roman Shades, bc they still our very visible when drawn up.

These are the pleated shades ( these are blackout- but most will let a small amount of light in) I took photos for you down and drawn up. Drawn up you can barely see them

Then Roman ( these were left by the old homeowner)

Hope that gives you some ideas.
