OB/GYN recommendations?
thinking about changing doctors and hoping for some recommendations, I prefer female doctors and was hoping for someone who has 3D sonograms available right in their office (my current doctor has that and I love it, but I don't feel like I'm getting "personal" care there).
I've been reading about Dr. Hanauer, some comments were about long wait times....does anyone see her on here? and is it still a long wait if you make an early morning appointment? (that's usually my tactic to get out of my ob/gyn's office quicker!).
TIA!

Re: OB/GYN recommendations?
For delivery at NSUH Manhasset, Susan Alkasab is great. I use Victor Klein (same office) and she wound up delivering my second DS. She's very sweet & personal. I wait forever and a day for an appt with Klein but it seems like the world goes to him so I'd bet Alkasab gets you in and out quicker.
Some reviews and contact info

Re: OB/GYN recommendations?
I am a patien of Dr. Hanuer. I love her!!! She is an amazing doctor, is gentle, and will take her time and answer any and all questions. She delivered my 2 nieces. But, yes..most times you will be waiting at least 1/2 hour to 45 minutes. I find you have to make an appt with her at least 2 months in advance. The other thing that bothers me is sometimes just to get though to make an appt can be busy for a while. I always say I am going to switch, but I love her so much and we are TTC so I don't know if I want to start with a new dr. *** For regular appts I see the practioner Kerry and she is also great.

thanks!! Do you know if she delivers at other hospitals? (although I actually like having an option other than LIJ). I read the reviews on that site, sounds promising, wait times supposedly aren't bad and those reviewers raved about her!

I'm not sure but I'd actually think no. She's part of the group that IS the NSUH ob-gyn group. Nimaroff is the head of GYN at NSUH, Klein is the premier OB at NSUH and they're technically employed by the hospital in addition to being affiliated with the hospital. Maybe check your insurance website on her - I bet it'll tell you for sure.

I went to this practice briefly (meaning like I only ever went twice) and saw Dr.Nimaroff. I was not pleased because I found the wait was very long .. .though most of all I didn't like that he brushed off all my TTC concerns. He told me all teenagers have period problems and completely dismissed everything I was saying and refused to look at my records even.
When I went there one night to pick up some samples of prenatals since the ones I was currently on were hurting my stomach, they made me wait like 40 mins just to give me the samples because they were apparently very busy behind the counter.
I should also say this was like 2 years ago.. so hopefully they have improved since then and it does seem like people like this group. However, this was MY experience.

Nimaroff and Klein actually split from their old group (I used to go to the old one and left with them when they moved on). That office was NOTORIOUS for triple bookings, 2 hour waits - other OBs refer to it as 'the baby factory'.
The wait time is hellish for both Nimaroff and Klein but I actually don't think it is that way for Alkasab and I believe there's even another woman there now too.
