Pulled out the pregnancy card for the first time!
Had my first day back at school today and already pulled out the pregnancy card! My schedule has me in class for a block of 3 to 4 hours without so much as a bathroom break. I tried to get it changed with no luck. I finally gave in and told my assitant principal that I'm pregnant and would be passing out from hunger now and probably peeing my pants in a few months. Hopefully I get some sympathy and get a change soon.
It does feel good having one person know my secret!

Wow, it really worked! I've been trying to get this changed for a week. A few hours after spilling the beans and it's fixed!
Still have a 3 hour stretch on extra help days but it's better than 4 hours.

Personally - I NEVER pulled the pregnancy card - and wouldn't plan on it this time around.
I just don't agree with it -

I just don't agree with it -
I don't see an issue with it. I wasn't looking for preferential treatment that I wouldn't expect for myself or others who weren't pregnant. If the issue wasn't resolved, my union rep would have stepped in for me (she doesn't know I'm pregnant). Explaining that I'm pregnant simply streamlined the process a bit.

They're not supposed to give you such a long stretch according to your union rules, right? DH had the same exact situation yesterday and had to have his rep help him smooth it out.

I personally don't see it as any different as her letting her boss know she has a broken ankle and needs to sit- it's just a medical reality for her right now.
I'm not sure what the protocol is on teachers that have to pee but IMO it is more responsible for her to take care of this right now rather than having to run out of a classroom full of students on a daily basis because she can't hold it in, no? At 7 1/2 months I personally HAVE to go at least every 2-3 hours and I CANNOT hold it in the way I could pre-pregnancy.
What would you do in her situation since you disagree with "pulling the pregnancy card"?

I see nothing wrong with "pulling out the pregnancy card" for this reason. You need a break and should get one. Glad it worked

I don't really see this as pulling a pregnancy card. I see pulling a pregnancy card as coping out of doing something that you don't want to do, but are perfectly capable of doing.
This is different IMO. As a former teacher I know that a teacher's job, and ability to use the restroom, is completely different from many other jobs. You can't just leave a class of kids while you run to pee. It's an issue. And there isn't always someone around to cover your class while you run out for 5 minutes.
To the OP, I think you did the right thing. Glad your situation was resolved!

ITA. It's a medical condition and anyone with a medical condition would get the same treatment.
