Covering areas of exposed fiberglass questions...
In the unfinished part of out basement there is a small area in the ceiling with exposed fiberglass insulation (the pink stuff). I wanted to make this area a work out room and it is also not too far from our laundry area so I am just not comfortable with it. I would love to cover it to prevent the particles from getting in the air. What can I use to cover it? Can I build a ceiling under it? Anyone do this? Who do you call to do it safely?
Also - in our attic on the floor there are areas of the same thing. Same question for that area!
Thanks so much in advance!

Re: Covering areas of exposed fiberglass questions...
You could always do like the rest of the house, and put up drywall. As long as you aren't covering any electrical junction boxes.
In the attic, I would just leave it as-is. The majority of attics are like that. Do you go in the attic often? You don't want to compress the insulation, and if it is above the attic floor joists, covering it will compress it and make it less effective.
In my basement and attic, I just leave the exposed insulation. Doesn't bother me, and as long as you don't poke at it too much, it won't get in the air. It's not like asbestos, and when I work with fiberglass, it doesn't bother me.
