OB going on vacation and never said anything?!
I had my perinatologist appointment thismorning and she checked me. I am 1-2 cm dilated and 30% effaced. She said with the contractions I am having, this week may very well be the week ( ). Only thing is, she also told me my ob is going to be away this week and he is the only ob in the practice so I would have to deliver with the doctor who is on call. I don't even know the doctor's name  I know I can't help when I go into labor and I don't expect my ob to never go on vacation, I just wish he would have said something to me on Monday at my appointment, especially since I have been contracting every 10 minutes (with full contractions) for the past two weeks! I just would have liked to know he wouldn't be there this week if I go into labor before I am actually giving birth in the hospital.

Im sorry since your almost there i would think your Dr would have said something to you. I had a little bit of a different situation My doctor told me last minute he doesnt do deliveries anymore I also had a covering doctor and she was FANTASTIC so dont worry . When your contractions start you are not going to care who is delivering you  Your almost there

Thank you! You're absolutely right! I'm just glad I found out about it now and not when I am in full blown labor. I feel like i'm in the movie Knocked Up when Doc Howard is away

My Dr was on vacation with DD..
I was a scheduled C-sec and my LO came a week and a half early...
So the dr on call did the c-section. I think I was glad i didnt know until I got to the hospital bec I didnt have time to think about some stranger cutting me open! 
Everything worked out fantastically! She was great! and my pain and recovery was quick and easy!

You will be surprised at how little your md is there anyway. They were there when i got there and checked me to see how dilated and to admit me. Then every hour to check how dilated...and then at the last possible second when the head was going to come out.
