not showing up on the OPK?
I started using OPK last month, I checked for 5 days before my OD and never got the second line (I got the Clear blue regular one, not the smiley face) but I know I ovulated on the 6th day bc I always have very painful ovulation , also that was the day on FF chart and by my calculations too , plus I had the egg white fluid ,sorry TMI and the temp went up a bit (although I don't temp consistently) Now this months the same thing, I did the test this past 4 days, no second line , had the egg white fluid again for 2 days, temp up... now this morning I woke up and I am having an ovulation pain and again it's the exact day FF chart says I should ovulate and the day I calculated. So is it possible that it's just not showing up on OPK for whatever reason? My friend told me this morning that she used OPK for 3 months and she never got a smiley, even though she was ovulating, they got pregnant the 4 th try. Wonder why this would be? I'm going to give it one more month -next month and then go see my OBGYN.

Re: not showing up on the OPK?
What time of day are you testing? How long are you holding your pee before testing?

What time of day are you testing? How long are you holding your pee before testing? I tested few times first thing in the morning , I also tested around 10 am couple of times (read that first thing in the morning is not good, who knows) then again later. Holding for 5 sec . No drink at least 2 hrs before. I just kept getting a very faint 2nd line, directions say that's a no.

I think this is the problem. You should test in the afternoon and at the same time every day. Say you chose.... 1pm - you test at 1pm every day. Personally when I was TTC DS, I tested late between 6pm and 9pm. I would hold my pee at least 3 hours and then test.
Also, you can try testing twice a day in case you have a short LH surge period. Test at like 1pm and then again at 7pm (or whatever times you prefer, just make sure they're at least 6 hours apart). That way you shouldn't miss the surge.

so here is what I did : I tested the same time every day, first month I tested 5 days, started out testing first thing in the morning but switched to 10 am after 2 days , even tested again second time later in the afternoon- around 6 as I got closer to the OD- nothing. Then this month I tested for 4 days, the first day I started out at 11:30-nothing, , switched to 1:30- nothing , then yesterday and the day before I tested at 1:30 AND in the evening around 6- still nothing. So I don't know, I also held the pee in around 3 hrs and sometimes more. Just a bit frustrated I guess, I'm def ovulating now, have all the symptoms. We didn't really this week , had a bad cold all week... Thanks so much for your advice, maybe I'll try your suggestion next month and if nothing happens again off to my dr.

Re: not showing up on the OPK?
I would just start temmping everyday. That is the only real way to know when you O and if you O. The predictors are fine but not fool proof so thats why I temped.

Ok what CD are you on now? And what CD did you start testing?
Also, you can try testing with two different tests. You never know, maybe you got a bad batch?
